1. How to cancel
In the Sprout & Roots app, open Account → Cancel subscription, choose a reason and confirm. The app shows you straight away whether a refund applies and how much it is. You can also ask us to cancel through our contact page.
- During a free trial: access ends as soon as you cancel. Nothing is charged for the trial itself, and if you had already set up AutoPay to continue after the trial, it is cancelled before its first charge.
- UPI AutoPay or card AutoPay: cancelling in the app also cancels the AutoPay mandate with Razorpay, so nothing more is charged. You can also stop the mandate yourself in your UPI app (usually under AutoPay or mandates) or with your card issuer or bank: that stops future charges and your child keeps access until the end of the period already paid for, but it does not request a refund — cancel in the app for that.
- After you have paid: if a refund applies, access ends when the refund is approved. If no refund applies, your child keeps access until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing more is charged.
- App Store or Google Play subscriptions renew through the store. Cancelling in the Sprout & Roots app does not stop the store from renewing: also cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
2. When you get a refund
- If you cancel within the refund window of your package (below) of your most recent subscription payment — the first payment, an AutoPay renewal charge or a renewal you paid in the app — (counted from the date of that payment), you get a full refund of that payment.
- For plans that include a materials kit, if the kit has already been dispatched (in transit or delivered) when you cancel, we deduct the kit and courier cost shown below from the refund.
- After the refund window, payments are not refundable, but you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Only the most recent payment can be refunded; earlier billing periods that you have already used are not.
When you cancel within the window in the app, the refund request is created automatically; you don’t need to do anything else.

Amounts include GST. The deduction is never more than the payment being refunded.
3. Kit fee
On kit plans the one-time kit fee is paid when you start, even during the free trial, so we can send the kit (with an App Store or Google Play subscription it is a separate UPI or card payment, as the stores sell only the digital plan). An unpaid kit is never sent. If you cancel before the kit has been dispatched, write to us and we will refund the kit fee in full. Once the kit has been dispatched, the kit fee is not refundable.
A kit that arrives damaged, incomplete or wrong is replaced free of charge; see the shipping policy.
4. How and when the money reaches you
Payments made on the web (Razorpay: UPI or card)
We review refund requests within 2 working days. Once approved, the refund is sent through Razorpay to the same UPI account or card you paid with. It usually reaches you within 5–7 working days after approval, depending on your bank. You get a GST credit note in the app.
Payments made in the mobile apps (App Store or Google Play)
Apple and Google handle payments made through their stores, so refunds are made by them to your store payment method under their policies. For Google Play purchases within the refund window we can issue the refund through Google Play for you. For App Store purchases, Apple does not let developers issue refunds: please request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and let us know so we can help.
5. Gifts, school seats and free months
- Gift subscriptions: a gift code that has not been redeemed can be cancelled and refunded in full to the buyer if you contact us within the refund window of your package (below) of buying it. Once the code has been redeemed, the gift cannot be refunded.
- School seats are paid for by the school; refunds for them are arranged between us and the school.
- Free months from referrals or promotions have no cash value and are not refundable.
6. Duplicate or mistaken payments
If you are charged twice, or a payment goes through for a checkout you had abandoned and started again, we refund the extra payment in full. If money left your account but the app does not show your plan, please wait a few minutes (the payment is being confirmed) and then contact us with the payment reference.
